I have used AVG Internet security and PC tuneup for years. I had need of AVG Tech services for what should have been an easy fix. My Internet security went on the computer with ease but the PC tuneup would not register and give me my new Activation code. After several calls and extended waits on the phone and talking to Techs with poor English I was told they would send a code to my e-mail in a few days.....Not sure why it takes days. We'll see if it shows up and I'll update my review then.
"UPDATE" I was never contacted or given a code. I tried again to install the Tuneup program and it registered finally and gave me my permanent activation code.
Both the Internet Security and Tuneup 2013 Programs work extremely well, Tech Services need improvement.

I've always been impressed with AVG's anti-virus protection. It is generally unobtrusive, doesn't seem to return too many false positives, and keeps the bad stuff off of your computers. It functions on every level, including rootkits. I can recommend this product for it's basic anti-virus capabilities without reservation.
However, do NOT let it install the AVG browser toolbar or its Yahoo based default search provider. The toolbar takes a good 8 to 10 seconds to load before you can begin to use the browser, it also significantly slows the load time for every single web page you view. The Yahoo search results are markedly inferior to Google search results, in at least presentation. The underlying engine for the Yahoo search is Bing. If you want to use Bing, just use Bing rather than Bing layered through Yahoo.
The PC Tune Up application is pretty hit and miss. It does things like clean up your registry, delete unneeded files, and defrag your hard disk. I would say that from "feel", applications may be loading a bit more quickly than they were before I ran it. On the other hand, it also claimed that it would greatly decrease my boot time. That didn't happen ... at all. However, I do like it's replacement for the Windows Task Manager if I need to kill an app outright. Windows Task Manager shows you everything that's running in the system, and the AVG Manager only shows you the apps you launched yourself. So you won't, for example, terminate the wrong "Explorer" application and kill your entire desktop when what you really wanted to do is kill one hanging IE window.
The annual license price of the product is outstanding, especially the Business Licenses. The best deals are to be had with multiple year licenses. I got my licenses directly from the AVG web site, as the prices are the same there, and they have more licensing and product combination options than you can find elsewhere.

AVG is the best internet security by far. I have used them for years and this is a very good deal on the software as it is much more expensive on their website. Since using AVG virus protection (last 10 years) I have never had a virus it didn't catch and vault on any of my computers. I have installed it on all of my family's computers as well. The PC Tune Up software is my favorite system management software and the 2013 update has several additions (like software/program removal, driver updates, etc.) that are very nice and above what Windows offers. I run PC Tune Up and IOLO System Mechanic on my computer (together) and I never have any computer hardware/software issues whatsoever.
