I first started using AVG when Microsoft OneCare (which was also an excellent security suite) notified me that they were not renewing their product back in 2008.My first purchase was from Wal-Mart for 2 years (upto 3 comps) and it worked excellently on my old Dell with XP Pro.It actually cleaned up a number of problems I was having and sped up my computer.I renewed online through Amazon for a 2 year multiple machine deal that included AVG PC Tune-up in 2010.It installed and updated flawlessly without any slowdown and again helped to clean-up and speed up my machine. Finally my old Dell had to be replaced due to lack of onboard HD space(old 40GB 2006)in late 2012.I called AVG & they remotely assisted in carrying my remaining license time over to my new Acer w/Windows 7 and updated my version for free without any hassle or hesitation.I just updated today for the third time without a hitch! Never a slow down,excellent accurate reports,keeps my machine clean & running at optimum performance.

I purchased the 2013 version of AVG Internet Security because the 2012 version worked fine on my system all last year. The new version will not install; I initially got an error message about the firewall. I spent hours trying all their online solutions to fix the problem. I called customer support (in the Phillipines) three times. Each time they politely suggested I pay them $15 to install it for me (I declined). Then they had me repeat the same steps I had already tried from their online instructions, and each time it failed. I emailed them data regarding the problem; a week or two later I received an email from them offering to install it remotely. I still don't want to pay $15, I don't want to hand over control of my computer, and I don't want to waste any more time on the phone. It's a vicious, nonproductive cycle and I want my money back. Unfortunately opened software cannot be returned, so it was a waste of money because I am unable to use it. The only good news is Amazon's price was the best and their service was fine. I am very disappointed with AVG and I suggest you bypass this product.

This loaded relatively quickly and does a great job of protecting my PC, with no daily intervention needed from me to keep it running. The interface between the program and my backup system is a little weak, but easily dealt with. The program doesn't take very long to set up after it is loaded, compared to Norton, which I used to use.
